People think that since I am retired for over five years all my years of schooling and laboring vanished. I have tried explaining many times that I am a lawyer by profession, and my age did not fry my brain. I can be almost about as helpful with my knowledge as I was able to be when I was younger. I almost gave up trying to prove my point when I saw they believed me. My son in law showed up with a few bankruptcy questions for me.  At first he began asking things like how much does one need to be down under before they declare bankruptcy? Then he started getting really specific with the digits. Next he began asking how one starts the process of filing for bankruptcy. It made me feel really accomplished, and good about myself to be able to answer all his questions. The entire question period my wife and children were crowding around, it was almost as if they were the spectators and I was the star of the show. It felt great to finally show them. It took me awhile to catch on that the fur business my son in law had so proudly built up was going bankrupt. This was only their way of breaking the news to me. First they thought my brain was going, but now they thought my heart was giving up to? What were they going to come up with next? I answered all the questions, to prove their theory about my brain wrong! But how was I going to prove them wrong about my heart? I stuck my hand out and motioned for my son in law to shake it, “Congratulations”, I said, “on twenty five years of a successful business, now it is time to move on!” There, I had done it without falling apart! Once again, I deserve a pat on the back!!
